Educational Workshops
We at Wheeler Brook Farm know that children greatly benefit from having agricultural experiences. Our children and grandchildren all have this opportunity, a personal connection to our farm, and knowledge of the common practices needed to grow the food we eat.
As part of our farm business, we offer this same opportunity to groups of children including public schools, home scholars, camps or neighborhood friends. Depending on time available, children’s ages, curriculum being studied, and our costs, we provide custom workshops on a variety of agricultural related subjects. Hands on experience on animal care, honey production, flower arranging, vegetable planting, fresh food harvesting and its preparation for eating, weeding, insect control, pond management and biology are just a few of the possible subjects presented.
